Tender, sweet, and perfectly spiced fried apples made effortlessly in a slow cooker. Perfect as a side, topping, or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 lbs apples, peeled and sliced

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the apples evenly, then place them in the slow cooker.

  2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.

  3. Sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture over the apples and gently toss to coat.

  4. Scatter butter pieces evenly over the apples.

  5. Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours, stirring halfway through.

  6. Check for tenderness and thickness; cook uncovered for 15 minutes if needed.

  7. Serve warm on its own or as a topping for pancakes, waffles, or desserts.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try dark brown sugar or add a pinch of nutmeg. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
