Description

A bold, cheesy burger loaded with crunchy Doritos and molten queso for a spicy, indulgent twist on classic comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)

  • 4 burger buns

  • 1 cup Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

  • Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for topping

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and chili powder. Mix gently and shape into equal patties, slightly thinner in the middle.

  2. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until desired doneness is reached.

  3. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in flour to make a roux, then slowly add milk while whisking until smooth.

  4. Stir in shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack, and cayenne pepper until fully melted to create the queso. Keep warm.

  5. Toast the burger buns in a dry skillet or under the broiler until lightly golden.

  6. Assemble burgers by spreading queso on the bottom bun, adding lettuce, tomato, the cooked patty, crushed Doritos, extra queso, and topping with the other bun.

  7. Serve immediately with fries or extra Doritos on the side.

Notes

Store leftover patties in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat gently. Queso can be reheated with a splash of milk. For make-ahead, freeze uncooked patties separated by parchment paper. Experiment with different Doritos flavors or cheeses for variation.
