- 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ¼ teaspoon + ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
- ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon ice cold water
- 32 black sesame seeds for eyes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, red pepper flakes, and salt.
- Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add the ice-cold water until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough gently on a floured surface until smooth.
- Divide the dough into equal parts and roll each piece into a snake shape.
- Place the snakes on a baking sheet and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
- Use black sesame seeds to create eyes.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before serving.
