Description

A fun and spooky Halloween snack made from breadsticks shaped like snakes, topped with sesame seeds for a creepy touch.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon + ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon ice cold water
  • 32 black sesame seeds for eyes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, red pepper flakes, and salt.
  • Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add the ice-cold water until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough gently on a floured surface until smooth.
  • Divide the dough into equal parts and roll each piece into a snake shape.
  • Place the snakes on a baking sheet and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
  • Use black sesame seeds to create eyes.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool before serving.
