Loaded Mashed Potato Spider Web Casserole

Description

A creamy, cheesy casserole topped with a spooky spider web design, perfect for Halloween parties and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. Idaho® potatoes
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 3/41 cup milk or half and half
  • Additional salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 4 ounces cheddar or colby jack cheese (shredded)
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1/3 cup sour cream

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and chop the Idaho® potatoes, then place them in a large pot.
  • Add enough water to cover the potatoes and stir in 1 tablespoon of salt.
  • Boil the potatoes until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  • Add butter and milk, then mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Stir in sour cream and mix well.
  • Transfer the mashed potatoes to a greased baking dish.
  • Cook bacon until crispy, then crumble and sprinkle over the potatoes.
  • Top with shredded cheese, forming a spider web design with sour cream.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
