Description

These spooky yet delicious Frankenstein Rice Krispies Treats are perfect for Halloween parties. Made with marshmallows, green food coloring, and topped with chocolate, they’ll delight kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 ounces large marshmallows (can use mini marshmallows)
  • 8 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup marshmallow fluff
  • 58 drops green food coloring
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 18 large candy eyes
  • 9 small Tootsie Rolls
  • ½ cup black or brown icing

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until fully melted.
  • Stir in the marshmallow fluff and green food coloring, mixing until you reach a vibrant green color.
  • Remove from heat and quickly fold in the Rice Krispies cereal, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  • Spread the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan, pressing it down evenly.
  • Let it cool for about 30 minutes, then cut into 9 rectangles.
  • Melt the dark chocolate chips with vegetable oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between until smooth.
  • Dip the top of each treat into the melted chocolate to create Frankenstein’s “hair.”
  • Attach two candy eyes with a dab of chocolate and use black icing to draw a mouth and stitches on each treat.
  • Cut Tootsie Rolls in half and stick them to the sides of each treat for Frankenstein’s bolts.

Notes

  • You can substitute the candy eyes with small chocolate chips.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep the treats fresh for up to 5 days.
