- Black food coloring or activated charcoal
- Red food coloring
Instructions
- Mix active dry yeast, warm water, and sugar in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine bread mix, salt, rice flour, and vegetable oil.
- Gradually add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Add black food coloring or activated charcoal until the dough turns a deep, dark shade.
- Knead for 5-7 minutes on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm area until doubled in size.
- Punch the dough down, shape into a loaf, and add streaks of red food coloring for a molten effect.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 25-30 minutes or until done.
Notes
- Use activated charcoal for a healthier option to achieve the black color.
- Red food coloring can be omitted if you want a purely black look.
