    • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    • Pinch of sea salt (optional)
  • Decorating:
    • Edible ink marker

Instructions

  • Prepare the Macaron Batter: Beat egg whites until foamy, add cream of tartar, and slowly mix in sugar until stiff peaks form. Add orange gel food coloring.
  • Sift Dry Ingredients: Sift almond flour and powdered sugar, and fold into the meringue.
  • Pipe Macarons: Pipe batter onto a silicone baking mat. Let the shells sit for 30-45 minutes until a skin forms.
  • Bake the Macarons: Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 14-16 minutes. Let cool before adding filling.
