- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt (optional)
- Decorating:
- Edible ink marker
Instructions
- Prepare the Macaron Batter: Beat egg whites until foamy, add cream of tartar, and slowly mix in sugar until stiff peaks form. Add orange gel food coloring.
- Sift Dry Ingredients: Sift almond flour and powdered sugar, and fold into the meringue.
- Pipe Macarons: Pipe batter onto a silicone baking mat. Let the shells sit for 30-45 minutes until a skin forms.
- Bake the Macarons: Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 14-16 minutes. Let cool before adding filling.

- Assemble the Macarons: Pipe the buttercream onto the bottom of one macaron shell and sandwich with another.
