Description

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk flour and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture until dough forms.

  2. Divide dough, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 1 hour.

  3. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut with cookie cutters.

  4. Place cookies on a parchment-lined sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes.

  5. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Decorate once cooled.

Notes

Chill dough thoroughly for best results. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Perfect for decorating with royal icing or sprinkles.
