  • 10 cups mini pretzel twists

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar together, stirring until mixture comes to a gentle boil. Continue stirring for 3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract if using.

  4. Place pretzels in a large bowl, pour hot toffee mixture over them, and toss quickly to coat evenly.

  5. Spread coated pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes for even coating and crunch.

  7. Allow pretzels to cool completely, then break apart any large clusters before storing or serving.
