- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup 2% milk
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce
- 1 jar (10 ounces) grape jelly
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, parsley, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
- Add the ground beef and mix until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and arrange them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until fully cooked.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine chili sauce and grape jelly. Heat until smooth and blended.
- Toss the cooked meatballs in the sauce before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add hot sauce to the barbecue sauce.
