Description
Juicy smash burgers layered with Swiss cheese, whiskey-glazed mushrooms, and a rich garlic butter drizzle. A gourmet burger made easy at home.
Ingredients
- 
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend) 
- 
1 cup mushrooms, sliced 
- 
2 tbsp butter (for mushrooms) 
- 
2 tbsp whiskey 
- 
1 tbsp brown sugar 
- 
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 
- 
2 tbsp butter (for garlic butter) 
- 
2 cloves garlic, minced 
- 
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped 
- 
4 slices Swiss cheese 
- 
4 brioche buns, lightly buttered 
- 
Salt and black pepper, to taste 
Instructions
- 
In a skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until golden. Add whiskey, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until glaze thickens, then set aside.

In a small pan, melt butter and cook garlic until fragrant. Stir in parsley and a pinch of salt. Keep warm. 
- 
Form ground beef into 4 loose balls. Heat a cast-iron skillet until hot, then smash each ball into a thin patty. Season with salt and pepper.

Flip patties once crisp on the edges. Immediately top with Swiss cheese and cover briefly until melted. 
- 
Toast brioche buns until golden. Layer patties on buns, add mushrooms, and drizzle with garlic butter. Serve hot. 
Notes
For extra flavor, serve with caramelized onions or add a dash of hot sauce to the garlic butter. Store leftover patties in an airtight container for up to 3 days; reheat in a skillet.
